Our Victories

Trans Mountain Pipeline
We never thought it would take as many years or as many court victories as it did, but we kept grinding away in support of the Trans Mountain Pipeline. One example of our work: our “Big Gas” video was viewed more than 1.3 million times and won multiple international advocacy awards.

LNG Canada
No group did more to advocate for a Liquefied Natural Gas industry in B.C. than ICBA and our #GET2YES platform. It worked: the $40 billion LNG Canada project is underway in Kitimat and is the single largest private investment in Canadian history.

Coastal GasLink Pipeline
Some 670 kilometres long, the Coastal GasLink pipeline project is an approved, under construction pipeline that will safely deliver natural gas across northern B.C., with signed agreements with every single First Nation along its route.

Site C Dam
We got the Site C clean energy project approved by an NDP government that openly campaign against it. Using the power of the #GET2YES platform, we convinced the NDP government of the importance of Site C’s clean energy and the thousands of construction jobs there.

Stopping Vancouver’s Natural Gas Ban
When Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson hatched a plan to ban natural gas within Vancouver city limits by 2050, we went to work. In late 2017, Robertson surrendered, signing an MOU with FortisBC protecting natural gas in the city, and even promising to convert vehicles to the fuel.

2010 Vancouver Olympics
ICBA was there from day one, supporting the local bid for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games – even lighting up cranes with “2010 YES!” signs during the all-important Vancouver plebiscite on hosting. O Canada!
